The Social media giant, Facebook has announced that it would stop sending or reminding users about their friends or family members who are late/dead.
Although this current practice can have mixed feelings to the grieved (in some cases, it serves as a reminder while to some, as a painful memory).
The company have decided to stop sending notifications to its users in the form of birthdays, or invitations to an event.
Facebook says it’s working on ways using bots to help manage these occurances as many users have complained about the accounts of their departed loved ones being used for spams.
The company says it would develop a software that would help them identify accounts of users whom have passed away.
Also, evidence of such demise would have to be provided by close friends and family members.
Unlike its old practice, where anyone could contact Facebook to report about the passing away of a loved one or user.
