Infinix Hot7: Don’t Buy until you read this

The Infinix Hot7 like every other Chinese phone, is the next in line to flood the market. We shall be discussing about the pros and cons of buying this smartphone.

It’s no news that Infinix released yet another of its brand, Infinix Hot7. The Infinix hot7 comes fresh out the box with an Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. It also packs a Quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz CPU.

The Infinix hot 7 is said to be released in two versions: Infinix Hot7 and Infinix Hot 7 Pro. Both versions are the same when it comes to looks, display and battery with minor differences occurring only at the ram and camera power. The Infinix hot 7 comes with a 1gig RAM, 13MP+2MP rear camera while the Infinix hot 7 Pro comes with a 2 gig ram, dual 13MP+2MP rear cameras and 8MP front facing camera.

The phones houses a 6.2 inches IPS LCD capacity touchscreen with a notch 1500×720 resolution (no information was given about the ppi). The infinix hot 7 comes equipped with a 4,000 mAh Li-On battery for users that a phone clingy.

For its security, the phone comes with a fingerprint scanner right under the camera, a bit to the left and side. At the middle of back of the phone for ease of use.

Price of the phone ranges from $133-$161 (₦48,000-₦58,000) and can be purchased only at Jumia

The Infinix hot 7 makes use of a MediaTek MT6580p processor of 2012 (a 7 year old processor) which barely keeps up with processor demanding apps like Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. Infinix went all low to make this phone. Not worth the price it’s being sold at.

Both versions of the phone can barely keep up with regular updates from app developers when it comes to ram (1gig and 2 gig RAM respectively). Facebook app alone when installed takes up to 500MB of ram space, next is Google Playstore (another monster you can’t get rid of) realing in 400-500MB and Facebook messenger taking up to 300MB, leaving users to opt in to using Facebook lite and messenger lite.

In display, the new Infinix hot 7 besides the notch is not far fetched from the Infinix Hot Note (2014). With a 720p display, pictures seem to appear a bit dull in the phone compared to other brands of phone in that price range.

Lastly, the Infinix hot7 does not support fast charge. Users will have to wait long hours before they can get their phones from 0-100%.

In summary, the Infinix hot 7 (Pro) is not the best or good phone to buy if you ever love your money and want to get the best from it.

I would suggest you look to other manufacturers like Nokia, Elefone, LeTv, Umidigi, Ulefone, Xiaomi and lastly Huawei that’s if a Samsung is too far from your pockets reach.

These products  can be gotten from Jumia AliExpress, ebay, Amazon or Konga.
